Bring a tree back to a size that suits the garden without hacking at it. More light, less weight on the limbs, and a shape that still looks like the tree.
Is this the job you need?
Reduction takes the crown back to a smaller, balanced shape by cutting to growth points. Thinning removes selected branches inside the crown to let light and wind through. Often it's a bit of both.

How we do it
01
A reduction is specified in metres, not percentages, so you know exactly what's coming off. Usually no more than a third of the crown.
02
Preservation order or conservation area? We check and file the application. The council usually replies within eight weeks.
03
Roped in, working from the top down, every cut made just above a growth point so the tree heals cleanly and regrows naturally.
04
Brash chipped, logs stacked or removed, lawn raked. Then we walk round it with you.
